Akin von Aalen is a wonderful 12-month-old German Shepherd mix who has more plusses (+) than we can count.  House-trained, crate-trained, boundary-trained, good with dogs and respectful of cats (with supervision), this sweet boy amazes his foster parents with how much he wants to please -- he may even share his beloved squeaky toys with you.  Having a gentle energy, Akin enjoys his daily walks, savoring the scents and sounds that surround him.  Inside the home, he’s a quiet companion while you use your computer or watch your favorite TV show, snuggling against your leg or placing his head on your lap.  Akin alerts to unfamiliar noises or voices outside the home that he thinks you should be aware of, protective boy that he is.  Shy and somewhat timid when he was first rescued from a high-kill shelter, this youngster is well on his way to releasing his inner-shepherd qualities.  He will thrive in a forever home that welcomes him as part of the family and someone is there much of the time – and he’s love to have another dog with whom to bond.
